Spring décor is taking flight. Here are some SMART Tips to help you prove that Spring is for the birds!
Start with a birdcage or basket –Find a vintage birdcage and create a 3-dimensional table display. Fill it with a faux momma bird, and add her eggs, babies, nest, flowers or whatever springs to mind. Find a vintage wire egg basket. Look for one with an interesting pattern and a hole in the bottom for wiring. Invert and hang for a one-of-a-kind light fixture.
Make a birdbath terrarium – A shallow model can hold just enough soil to make a dramatic tabletop display. Use plants that are water and light compatible, but vary in color and texture. Succulents are a great pick for your first try. Makes a great gift too!
Artwork for the birds – Change to Spring-themed art without spending a bundle. Find items that feature birds: calendars, vintage books, coasters, inexpensive prints, etc. Frame the same and hang in a grouping for a birdaful arrangement.
Re-organizing egg-citement – Egg cups make unique holders on a desk, dresser, or bathroom surface (grouped on a tray). Use decorative ones for small items like stamps, paperclips, rings or earrings, hair accessories, cotton balls, etc.
Top-notch bird bravery – Bird patterns are big this season. You’ll find them in upholstery fabrics, curtain panels, wallpaper, pillows and more. Pay homage to our feathered friends and strut your plumage using them wherever your design wings takes flight.
